How does the live stream work?

A: The Live Stream allows you to earn 30 Credits from the comfort of your home or office. You may listen to engaging presentations, view the speakers’s presentation slides, and participate in Q&A sessions. You will be given login credentials to the Live Stream Portal prior to the conference start date. You may test your connection by viewing a test video in the Live Stream Portal, which will be posted until the start of the conference. You may view the Live Stream on your Smartphone, Tablet, or Computer. You will receive Live Credits for the Live Stream as it is a live broadcast of our Conference. You will receive further instructions for the credit claiming process upon the start of the conference.

What are the technical requirements for viewing the live stream?

A: Generally, if you are able to watch a YouTube video or Netflix, you will have no issue. The following information is from our technical team regarding technical requirements.

“In order to view the live stream, make sure you have the most up to date browser and an Internet connection of at least 1 Mbps.

  • Operating system: Windows 7+, Mac OS X 10.7+, Ubuntu 10+, or Linux OS 11+ (64-bit)
  • Most recent version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, or Opera
  • If you have an older browser or operating system, you will need the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player
  • Closing other tabs or browsers while streaming will also help”

Can I ask the speaker’s questions if I am live streaming?

A: Yes, you may use our Q&A platform to ask the speakers questions in real time.

Can I earn credits from watching the recordings?

A: The recording does NOT offer any additional credits, but is an opportunity for attendees to review the material from our courses.

How long will the recordings be available to watch?

A: The recording will be posted for 60 days.

What is the difference between the live stream and the conference recording?

A: The live stream offers you the opportunity to earn Live CME Credits from your home or office. You may tune into our conference that is happening in person in real time. The recording does not offer credits, but is simply a way for you to review the presentations for 60 days.

If I sign up for the live stream, will the CME credits still count as ‘live’?

A: Yes, because the conference is live streamed, the credits count as ‘live’ credits.

How do I access the presentation slides?

A: You will be given login credentials prior to the start of the conference, to the Downloads tab on our website to access the presentation slides.

How do I access my CME certificate?

A: Please see our page, How To Get Your Credits. 

Do I have the opportunity to ask the speaker questions during the conference?

A: Yes, you will have the opportunity to ask speakers questions after each presentation.

Do I need to sign in every day?

A: Yes, you must sign in daily on the sign in sheets provided at the Registration Desk in order to receive CME credits for that day. If you are streaming the conference, there is no need to sign in.

If I am not attending the full conference, how many CME credits will I earn?

A: You will earn 7.5 CME credits per day, totaling 30 Credits for the full conference.  This applies to AMA PRA Credits, AAFP Prescribed Credits, and ABIM MOC Points.

Can I receive ABIM MOC points?

A: Yes, to receive ABIM MOC points, we require you to provide your ABIM number and birthdate as well as completion of a post-test. MOC points will be reported to the ABIM by the accrediting institution. For more information, please see our How To Get Your Credits page

Can I earn prescribed AAFP credits?

A: Yes, our conferences are accredited for Prescribed AAFP credits.

Can I earn Live AAFP credits if I choose to live stream the conference?

A: Yes.

What is your refund policy?

A: You may cancel up until the start of the conference for a full refund.

Will you provide a syllabus?

A: No, we do not provide a syllabus. However, you will be provided with all of the presentation slides in PDF format.

Are there any refreshments provided?

A: A light breakfast is served each morning, along with two snack breaks (one in the morning and one in the afternoon). Coffee and tea are also provided all day.

If I want to switch to the live stream or vice-versa, can I do so without being penalized?

A: Yes, just email us at contact@amf-cme.org and we can switch your registration over.
